STATE QUIET SEARCH
I work at the seam where hardware, software, and human judgment collide — inside the racks, inside the tooling, inside the workflows that keep the world's enterprises running.
12 years at Dell. Before that, six years running a small IT consultancy and managing two proof-of-concept datacenters. Today I lead 13 people across the US, Egypt, and Taiwan, working on agentic AI, systems management, and cluster-scale infrastructure UX.
Leadership Track Record
Five years of direct report, peer, and leadership feedback. Selected quotes from performance reviews, organized by theme. 11 of 13 reports promoted, 100% retention.
Synthetic Personas, AI Governance
Deep-vertical synthetic personas covering cluster-scale AI infrastructure, from frontier labs to hyperscalers. Driving roadmap alignment xLOB.
Systems Management Portfolio
A decade directing UX across 4 generations of PowerEdge software & hardware, culminating in the IDS-aligned, highly regarded experiences in iDRAC, OME, & At-the-rack. Creative direction across a global 13-person team.
Agentic AI for Systems Management
Dynamic UI workflows and agentic patterns for datacenter operations. Research, concept, and implementation guidance across PdM and Eng.
Context-Aware Enterprise UX
Role-, state-, and task-aware UI patterns for dense systems management surfaces. iDRAC as the worked example — the interface adapts to who's looking, where the machine is in its lifecycle, and what you're trying to get done.
Research Rigor
Selected studies from my time as an IC researcher inside Dell. IT Pros at the Seattle usability lab, cross-vertical IDIs, heuristic audits, the lot — qual and quant, across 14G → 17G.
Dell Research Library
Led alpha → v1.5. Auto-transcription, roadmap generation, structured corpus now feeding Dell's AI systems. Concept to production platform.
Enterprise Horizons
Cross-functional strategic foresight framework for Dell's EIG org. Built as a team lead across 10 people (8 UX, 2 PdM); presented to executives in 2023 and directly funded additional headcount to shift the UX team left.
Innovation Portfolio
Selected tour through 33 filed patents — contextual overlays, navigational lighting, servicing mechanisms. Dell Patent Committee as UX SME.
PowerEdge 14G → 17G
Lead usability engineer across four generations of rack, modular, telco, and edge servers. Behavioral and experiential design across the portfolio.
Lead a 13-person multidisciplinary team (UXR, IxD, Visual) plus 4 technical contractors across the US, Egypt, and Taiwan. Set the research roadmap, direct AI/agentic initiatives, and partner xLOB with PdM, Eng, Quality, Services leadership. Tell Dell Rock Star, three years running.
Architected the Dell Research Library platform from concept to v1.5. Enterprise HW patent committee. 33 patents filed (23 granted). 55+ research studies completed.
Lead usability engineer across multiple PowerEdge generations. Mentored incoming junior staff — many of whom became my direct reports years later.
Lab manager for two proof-of-concept datacenters. Designed and deployed UX labs in Austin, Hopkinton, Seattle, and Denver. On-site SME for datacenter SW, HW, and cloud offerings.
Ran a small consulting practice serving clients across engineering, medical, accounting, and arts sectors. Greenfield deployments, virtualization, MSP/SaaS implementation, Windows Server.
Forty-five disclosures. Thirty-three filings. Twenty-three grants.
A selected subset of the work I'm most proud of — spanning interaction patterns, servicing mechanisms, contextual overlays, and hardware-level UX. Generated as an individual contributor and as UX SME on the Dell Patent Committee.
